Tail Wheel Endorsement

A tailwheel undercarriage (otherwise known as a conventional undercarriage) is a useful endorsement to have on your licence or alternatively commence your flight training journey. There are many aircraft with tail wheel configuration and piloting them requires a higher degree of skill and the ability to maneuver an aircraft more precisely. Central Coast Aero Club instructors have hundreds of hours of tailwheel experience and know how to help students adopt high standards in this more challenging style of aviation.

You’ll learn three-point landings & wheel landings – improving your skills & ability to handle an aircraft. A tailwheel endorsement can open up opportunities to progress onto other tailwheel aircraft types in both a private or professional capacity.

We use a Super Decathlon for our tailwheel training – the Super Decathlon is the top tier in the Citabria line of aircraft and is a much loved and very capable aeroplane. Our Super Decathlon is also an excellent aerobatic trainer fitted with a constant speed propeller. Why not include a Spin, Aerobatic or MPPC endorsement while completing your tailwheel endorsement?

REQUIREMENTS:

Typical hours: 6 – 8 hours

Approximate COST:

Approximate cost $3,420 for 6 hours flight training inclusive of briefings

(Prices and times are based on average hours taken to complete the course. Any additional hours required will be invoiced at the applicable rate)

*Please note the aircraft utilsed for training also has a constant speed propellor, so students who don’t hold an MPPC endorsement would need to complete this also.
