This article represents one of the most ambitious commercial aviation proposals ever publicly announced for Warnervale Airport. Rather than simply advocating airport expansion, it outlined a detailed business plan to establish a Central Coast-based regional airline operating regular interstate services.
The proposal reflected the opportunities created by airline deregulation during the early 1990s and demonstrated the growing confidence that Warnervale could become a genuine regional transport hub. The planned infrastructure upgrades—including a terminal, runway extension, navigation aids and hangars—anticipated many of the improvements that airport supporters had advocated for over the previous decade.
Although Trios Coastal Airlines never commenced operations, the article illustrates the scale of commercial investment being contemplated for Warnervale and the belief that the airport could stimulate employment, tourism and economic development across the Central Coast.
Today, it stands as an important historical record of the airport’s commercial aspirations during one of its most optimistic periods.
