One of Australia’s leading flight schools is at Warnervale Airport. Even if you’re not a local, there are so many reasons to drive to the Central Coast Aero Club for your flight training, compared to more expensive flight schools at more congested airports at Cessnock, Bankstown and Camden.
The Central Coast Aero Club’s instructors have tens of thousands of hours of flight time between them. They have taught thousands of pilots across Australia, you’ll find our students in command of Air Force fighter jets and Qantas A380. Australian Red Bull air racing pilot Matt Hall started his flight training with us. We are a CASA approved flight training provider and our instructors keep their skills up to date through membership of the Australian Association of Flight Instructors.
With our pay-as-you-go flight training, you set the pace and the budget. We will never ask you for money up front.
Warnervale Airport is far less congested than busier airports. Unlike students of flight schools at Cessnock, Bankstown and Camden, you’ll get more time in the air every hour, instead of sitting on the ground waiting for take-off clearance.
Warnervale Airport’s training area is above the beaches, lakes and hills of the Central Coast. You’ll enjoy spectacular scenery for an unforgettable flight training experience. Only 50 minutes on the M1 motorway from Sydney’s northern suburbs or Newcastle, when you compare the cost and opportunities to get in the air, it’s worth the trip to Warnervale.
At the Central Coast Aero Club, we maintain the highest levels of safety and quality. Our fleet of training aircraft are tested against the strongest safety standards by our in-house maintenance and engineering team.
The Central Coast Aero Club was founded in the early 1970s by a small group of aviation enthusiasts who saw the need for a light aircraft airfield to service the Central Coast. These first members included Jack Grant, who the road servicing the airport was named after. The airfield was cleared and constructed by the Aero Club voluntarily at no cost to the Central Coast community, with the first aircraft landing at the brand new Warnervale Airfield in 1973. Since then, the club has grown to include a fully-fledged CASA approved Flying School supplementing our existing not-for-profit Club endeavours.
Over the last few decades, we have trained countless pilots and engineers – supplying Australia’s airlines, aeromedical, charter and flight training industries with highly trained professionals. We are a true community organisation hosting numerous events every year for the benefit of the Central Coast, including partnering with Paul Bennet Airshows to create one of the regions biggest tourism drawcards – the Central Coast Airshow. This has culminated in us winning the prestigious Aero Club of the year award by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority in their annual Wings awards for 2022.
The Central Coast’s charter is to foster aviation in all of its forms – and we continue to perform this role as the Central Coast’s pre-eminent aviation provider.
We love what we do!
